NEW SOUTH WALES

IMG_0002New South Wales is Australia’s oldest and most diverse state, and offers an exceptional variety of places to visit.  It has an abundance of beaches that stretch from the north to the south, including the world’s most famous ‘Bondi’, and one of the world’s most beautiful ‘Hyams’.

There are six world heritage sites in New South Wales including: the iconic Sydney Opera House; breath-taking Greater Blue Mountains; ancient and magical Willandra Lakes Region; subtropical and unchanged Gondwana Rainforests; historic and interesting Australian Convict Sites, and the incredible Lord Howe Island Group.

Sydney has a wealth of things to experience to match all tastes, including the famous Harbour Bridge climb and a visit to the Opera House.  Your taste buds will tingle with the quality produce and outstanding wines on offer throughout this state including the Hunter Valley and Orange.

The state is home to Australia’s tallest mountain, Mount Kosciuszko, which can be visited via a year-round chairlift from Thredbo followed by an easy 6km walk; in the winter months this is the place to enjoy skiing.

New South Wales is also home to sparse desolate outback and expansive mountain ranges.  You don’t have to travel far out of Sydney to experience some of the natural wonders this state has to offer, such as the spectacular Blue Mountains and the scenic Ku-ring-gai Chase and Royal National Parks.

Byron Bay has a trendy vibe and is popular amongst visitors, including myself.  Here you can take surf lessons, snorkel or dive at the marine reserve and enjoy an amazing breakfast at the Beach Cafe.
